Hello again! As some of you may have already read, I let myself get completely burned out doing a blogging challenge in January. In the process of doing the blogging challenge, I met almost NONE of my January goals in January, and spend most of February catching up. Lesson learned, no more blog-every-single-day-for-a-month challenges for a long while….at least until I am prepared waaaaay in advance, with an editorial calendar set up
My January Goals were as follows:
3 week sugar control diet– completed successfully and boy do I feel better!Get back into the rhythm of doing weight sessions at the gym– I have been going at least 5 times a week, I feel so proudMeditate for at least 5 minutes every day– Lately the trick for me is doing it at night as I fall asleep. I don’t feel this is the most productive way to meditate, but I have had a lot of trouble sleeping lately and it seems to help me fall asleep.Complete the Ultimate Blog Challenge– Truthfully I was 2 posts short. The last couple days, I just could not bring myself to write any more. However the goals of the challenge we accomplished, which included, growing my readership, making bloggy connections, meeting great people, adding more content to my site, etcOrder wedding invitations and save the dates– Save the dates are sent, I have decided to go against tradition and do e-vites instead of paper invitations. I have also ordered my dress (I’m SOOO excited!) and booked venues and a DJ, and chosen the dinner menuGet ahead 5 posts for February– Well, I am ahead more than 5 posts, but….they aren’t in February. 2 of them are, the rest I felt would work better later in the year.Submit my application to culinary school– I submitted and heard back. Sadly, I was not invited to take the entrance exam. This is a situation where full disclosure would have been appreciated. Apparently, this school only accepts people who have no job training and career skills. In their terms, because I already have 3 vocational certifications, I am over-qualified. As it is a school that is covered by government funding (as are most colleges in Finland), it would make sense that they would choose people with no or little education, so that they are able to support themselves.
March Goals:
- Choose and set up wedding evites so that they are ready to be sent out in April
- Join more link ups – 2 or more in addition to the ones I have been doing
- Set up an editorial calendar
- Finish the crocheted blanket I started in January (I’m 80% done with it, currently)
- Finish my spring cleaning – I listed this on my Winter Blues post and I have already started, and it really does help!!
- Make my first attempt at a wedding cake – there will be a post on this later, but (not meaning to toot my own horn) I’m pretty darn good at cakes. I had some serious sticker shock while price shopping for wedding cakes for my small wedding. So I thought I’d try my hand at it before I gave in to ordering one.
